Dispatch ran on a shared spreadsheet that three teams edited at once. Nobody could say where a shipment was without phoning the depot, and the same load was regularly assigned twice — twice in one week in December 2024, on the Carlisle run. Nordhaul had already bought an off-the-shelf TMS and abandoned it nine months in because it could not model their sub-contractor network.
The platform went live across all eleven depots over the weekend of 12 April, with the spreadsheet kept read-only for a fortnight as a fallback nobody ended up opening. Dispatch errors fell 41% over the following quarter. Nordhaul’s own team now owns the codebase — two of their engineers paired with ours through the final three sprints.
We stopped arguing about where the trucks were and started arguing about how to route them better. That is the upgrade.
